Speaking with Erik, the adventurer learns that Widargelt intends to rebuild the Fist of Rhalgr with a new generation of monks. When he learns the adventurer's seventh chakra had been opened and he was denied of his, he attempts to defeat them after failing, he grants the adventurer their final relic gear piece, and declares he has learned to fight not for vengeance, but for life. After the adventurer obtains their relic gear, Widargelt asks them to help him restore Ala Mhigo. Widargelt is not interested in helping Erik, and is only interested in opening his own chakra in those areas, encouraging the adventurer to do the same. A researcher of the "chakra", Erik tasks the adventurer with helping Widargelt, who sees their potential as a Monk, research in aether-heavy battle-ravaged areas. The group defeats Hamon's old adversary and crime syndicate kingpin, Weggfarr Wideaxe, and Hamon congratulates the adventurer on their progress.Īfter speaking to Gagaruna again, the adventurer is directed to Erik, found in the Goldsmith's Guild. Chuchuto encourages the adventurer to face Hamon in combat to help Hamon regain his strength, and after a few rounds, Hamon regains confidence. Later, Hamon and the two encounter Hamon's former apprentice Rurukuta Tornstar, who humiliates Hamon by proving him a shadow of his former glory, and discourages him from continuing to fight. The Pugilist Guild's guild receptionist Gagaruna directs the adventurer towards Hamon who is initially delighted to train them, and has them train alongside his other pupil, Chuchuto Brightstar. Thus the warrior monks and their teaching were lost - scattered like ashes on the wind. Eventually, the Mad King Theodoric, grown fearful of the order's political power, had the Temple of the Fist burned to the ground in the Sixth Astral Era. The Fist of Rhalgr evolved into a formidable military force, and gradually nurtured an alliance with the royal family of Ala Mhigo. Through their meditations did they discover within themselves foci of power - chakras - and devised a martial art that channeled the life energies of the practitioner into destructive force. Within their temple, the devotees of the Fist tempered body and spirit in an effort to grow closer to their deity. Thus they devoted themselves to Rhalgr the Destroyer, whose streaking star had granted them salvation, and found the Fist of Rhalgr. In the time of the Sixth Umbral Calamity, some people who escaped the great flooding followed the guiding light of a meteor which led them to the highlands of Gyr Abania. ![]() The important character Lyse Hext is a Monk. ![]() In Final Fantasy XIV: Endwalker, Monks are overhauled to use Beast Chakras in their new Masterful Blitz mechanic. Monks place more emphasis on the "chakra" and elements of meditation than the typical close-quarters combat arts. Retaining the Pugilist's stance mechanics, Monks differ in their aesthetic and in the quest characters. ![]()
